One addition.

I would be less cynical if the world didn't keep proving me right.

I forgot to add sports to my list to things I'm cynical about. (That's because I took my list from Howie Kurtz's article of yesterday and in all other respects it's a full complete listing.) But, I forgot about two refereeing scandals -- the officiating at the World Cup, and the collusion of the French judge with the Russians for medals at the Olympics.

In other 'Yet to prove me wrong' news, corporations seem to expect the low-level employee to be honest straight-arrows, even to be selfless for the sake of the company, while the execs will nearly kill the company and everyone working for it to get more money. This really should anger free-market types!
