If Karl Rove was honest, this AP dispatch would have begun:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Presidential adviser Karl Rove admitted Saturday that politicians and their operatives often criticize reporters and the media because they want to draw attention away from the "corrosive role" their own actions plays in governance.


I will argue today that most of the press is far too deferencial to politicians and their operatives, and this is a direct result of decades of being accused of harboring political bias.
