It's been a long time -- Paul Krugman brings up past predictions. . .

Twenty dollar a barrel oil, as a result of a war that would only cost us sixty billion dollars is but one of the promises that didn't quite pan out.

This column is timed well, as people are suggesting that a war with Iran would be a good thing for the Middle East. Even conservatives like George Will sees this advice as originating from some fantasy realm.
