Weinman is right. The February 22, 1959 Sunday Peanuts strip is one of the bests.

I've felt for a long time that Peanuts is underappreciated. And I've loved the 50's reprints they're running these days. Some of the best stuff from the whole series.

I think a big part of the problem came as Schultz turned it over to other people to do. When Schultz did it, the characters seemed like kids. Very intelligent and precocious kids, but kids nonetheless. Later, they seemed to lose their "kid-ness".
