School Spirit, the Florida Way!

Says Lindsey Meyer, senior at DeLand High School in central Florida, "I guess it's like showing school spirit, kind of, in a weird kind of way."

What did they do to show school spirit? Well, they glued bee hives -- containing an estimated 80,000 bees -- to the school floors. And with the leftover glue, they filled the keyholes of classrooms and offices, effectively locking people out.

But hey, it's tradition!

I'm not sure if I should laugh at that story or be totally horrified at it. Its a good prank, but the bees could actually hurt someone if they sting, and injury should never be part of a well pulled off joke.

Actually, the principal of the school was allergic to bees, so it could have gotten very ugly if she had been stung. Of course, I'm sure it was a very expensive prank to clean up after.
