Right after the closing, we had Legacy Animation...pretty much a thumb of the nose at Disney who seem very much to want out of the cartoon business to focus on providing fodder for the Dilbert comic strip. (You can probably read all about in in Eisner's new book, Lessons I've Ignored in Camp, if it ever comes out.) Now we have Project Firefly opening. I ought to see if I missed any other openings.  If there's lots, they can't all be successful, simply from market oversatuation (you still have to sell the work or a distrubtor of some sort). But I just hope one out there is successful, because like these guys, I believe there is still a desire to see good animated works out there. I think Disney is wrong in its analysis of the animation market, and is wrong in ascribing the failures of its movies to the conceit that animation is a relic of the past.

I was thinking they were naming it after that old Wheadon space show that was on Fox... but since Wheadon has already been on record of thinking of you when he developed it...
