For whatever reason, it seems that Six Apart managed blogging services are spending more time dead than alive. That includes this site, and my (until now) unmentioned Vox weblog, and apparently hundreds of amateur and professionally run weblogs. I'm assuming every one of those bloggers had to post their opinion about what to do about Iraq this morning. I know James Baker is thinking to switching to MySpace!
Since I'm here, (and maybe I can post after I finish typing this up) I may as well point out my other bloggy sites -- in case these pages are unavailable when I find something on YouTube.
On Blogger, I post things mainly at http://doingthistiltuesday.blogspot.com/ .
I also have a spot on Delicious where I dump links that I don't have commentary for.

Whenever I try posting using the "My LiveJournal" portal page, why does it give me this error: "Error updating journal: Client error: Invalid argument(s): Invalid year value."?
With the recent change to LJ where all users get subdomains (like all other weblog hosting services), there's a chance -- however slight -- that Technorati will be less braindead in indexing this page... (as also Google Blog Search).
But before that happens, here's the funny trick... the value of this journal is dependent on what page you are looking at.
The second price is obviously the more accurate one.
(The change in LJ seems to be the result of a group successfully using a Javascript trick to hijack numerous accounts.)

My blog is worth $564.54.
How much is your blog worth?

I'm going to steal an idea from the online journaling community. I'd like to know who reads this site. I'd also like to know how you found this site, what you like about it, and (this will probably be frightening easy) what you dislike about this journal. Frankly, I want to hear from all the people who read this journal, but have never or only occasionally left a post in a comment.

Not my photo, but isn't this a cute little creature? I really ought to make him my mascot.
PS: I gave up and changed all the tags so that have an ugly + where a space should be. It makes the category links work again...at least until LJ breaks them again.

It appears LiveJournal is having issues with tagging. Tags with spaces are being resolved with URLs turning the space character into "%20" (the URL representation for the space), even though the links such tags point to turn the space into a "+". Thus a number of my tags have broken.
My multiword tags (and [likely temporary] URLS to access them...)
dc voting rights
fl inverter
found links
fox news
george w bush
identity theft
social security
This makes me real willing to try to finish "tagging" old posts. (Hell, I don't even want to read them!)
Update: I went ahead and added "+" signs to all those problem tage. That means you can use the links in each post as normal. However, those temporary links above no longer works. Though I'm sure LiveJournal will go ahead and break every other link on this page shortly. Just surrender. There's no hope.
All tags are available here.

Well, since LiveJournal has introduced the "tagging" feature ("categories" for you non-blargh infected people), I've been trying to figure out what I should call each group of categories tags, and perhaps even label tag past posts. LiveJournal and Google sort of forced my hand in this. LiveJournal disabled their search (via Feedster), and Google stopped giving page summaries for LJ pages. Therefore, I'm not going to be able to find anything, unless I start categorizing tagging each post.
Of course, I'm trying to do it with an eye to what folks on the Internet are doing. (I'd rather not turn tags into the abused <Meta> HTML tag where people put 800 potential search engine subjects inside the tag.) Unfortunately, some websites are going to be less than helpful in this regard. Technorati shows what tags are related to the one you're looking at -- since what I maycategorize tag as "drawings" someone else will categorize tag as "illustration".
or so I thought. . .

"Chronic Fatigue Syndrome"?
